50 years from the first Earth Day celebration feels like a momentous occasion, one that should be spent talking about our progress as a planet. But we’d actually like to take this moment to talk about the people that work everyday to make our world a safer + cleaner space than it was yesterday. This Earth Day we encourage you to send some love to your favorite activist, think about giving to a cause that’s fighting for your human right to health, or just take a moment to learn from these experts who have poured their lives into their work because they care about you so much. This year we celebrate the real reason we’re doing as good as we are: the people behind the passionate action.

Circle Terra is run by the incredible Female Founder Kelly Freeman. Kelly has jumped right into action this past month, knowing that restaurants and public spaces need a clean option for disposable products. Downwinders at Risk never slows down, in fact, this crew is working harder then ever. This group is made of a jaw-dropping community led by some of our favorite people: Jim Schermbeck, Evy Mayo & Misti O’Quinn. Ever thought about the air pollution going on in DFW? This group knows exactly what’s up + is a reason your air is as clean as it is. These are the people fighting for everyone’s right to breathe easy.
GGOArchitects are the brains behind 1808’s adaptive reuse, shifting our HQ’s building from an abandoned warehouse with a collapsed roof to a living lab and community coworking space. This was not their first rodeo - as one Texas’ first + leading green architecture firms, founder Gary Olp and his team has seen Pizza Huts become Coffee Labs and abandoned banks become fitness studios. Turn Compost has changed our lives for the better this year - we have already begun to divert 10% of our trash thanks to them, and we’re just one business in the rapidly growing community they are cultivating.
